The Cooper Trooper Foundation officially became a non-profit organization on May 11, 2009. Will you please consider committing your funds and time to the Cooper Trooper Foundation to support our mission?

The Gift of a Cooper Trooper Caring and Courage Kit
The cost of developing and distributing a kit is approximately $18. A kit contains, I Am A Trooper T-Shirt, a courage medal, awareness bracelet, a Caring and Courageous Cancer Sib certificate, Hi, My Name is Jack (a book specifically geared toward siblings of children diagnosed with a chronic illness) to assist parents in helping their child deal with common emotions that arise when a sibling is diagnosed, and a brochure from The Cooper Trooper Foundation and from Super Sibs. There are roughly 10,500 new diagnosis of child-hood cancer each year in the United States. Our goal is to support and care for as many families we can possibly touch through this journey each and every year.

Why We Need You!
Childhood cancer incident rates are higher for ages 0-14 and 0-19 over the last 10 years vs. the prior 10 years (1975-2006,The National Cancer Institute). Clinical research conveys that this life event brings some of the most challenging physical and psychosocial stressors that can impact an entire family through the diagnosed child, parents and siblings. In the last 15 to 20 years, researchers have found that well siblings often incur the most negative effects from the childhood cancer experience and seem to bear the greatest hidden burden of stress in the family system. Additionally, of the National Cancer Institute's federal budget, only about 3% goes toward Pediatric Cancer Research, yet childhood cancers are the #1 disease killer of America's children under the age of 19.
